In a recent survey by the National Campaign, results of Sex and Tech show that 21% of teen girls and 18% of teen boys have sent/posted nude or semi-nude images of themselves. Additionally, 39% of all teens have admitted to sending or posting sexually suggestive messages.
Sexting is defined on Urban Dictionary as the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photos electronically, primarily between mobile phones. Although public schools are cutting back on student privileges with cellular devices, they haven’t been nearly as successful as boarding schools like New Creations Chapel.
If you think you’re teen is texting inappropriately or sexting, consider sitting down and addressing the situation in a firm manner. Teens need to realize that the cyber world contains pictures for cyber eternity, and may not only be viewed by the eyes of the beholder, but the eyes of a new enemy as well.
